As one of Northern Ireland’s largest housing associations, Choice has unveiled plans to establish a new limited company that will manage maintenance and repairs for our customers across more than 4,000 homes.

The move, which will see building, plumbing, electrical and other maintenance services delivered under the Choice brand, will add more than 30 people to association’s 350-strong staffing complement and generate savings of over £100k per year in repairs costs.

The new direct services organisation, Choice Services Limited, will be led by Managing Director, Wilton Farrelly, who holds more than 25 years in the facilities management industry in the private and public sectors.

In addition to Choice Services, Choice are delighted to announce that BEST Maintenance (a joint venture partnership between Engineering Services Electrical Ltd and Bayview Contracts Ltd) have been appointed to deliver building maintenance services for over 4,000 properties in an area including Belfast, Newry and Portadown.

Darren Johnston, Director, said “BEST Maintenance is delighted to have been chosen by Choice as their partner for the delivery we will provide an absolute commitment to deliver a highly professional and efficient service that addresses the needs of all tenants.”

Whilst we look forward to enhanced service provision in the future, it is unavoidable that during this time of transition there may be disruption to the services provided. Please be reassured that all emergency and urgent repairs will be prioritised. Therefore, the processing of some routine or minor repairs, which are normally completed within 28 days, may experience some delays.

The new service provision arrangements by Choice Services and BEST Maintenance will commence on the 6th May 2017, after which Noonan will no longer complete repairs.

If you had previously reported a repair which had been allocated to Noonan and it is still to be completed, our Services Centre team will reschedule this repair. Please refer to the works order notification, issued when your repair was initially reported to identify the appointed contractor.

Whilst every repair is important to us, we would ask that you only contact Choice to report new or overdue emergency or urgent repairs in the week commencing 8th May.

We are grateful for your understanding and patience and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused at this time. If you have any urgent concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us to speak with our customer advisors on 0300 111 2211.
