Choice has been awarded a 4-star rating by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) and accredited as an ‘Outstanding Organisation’.
EFQM is a not-for-profit membership foundation headquartered in Brussels and established in 1989 to promote organisational excellence across all sectors. Choice is the first organisation on the island of Ireland to be assessed using the recently updated accreditation framework. To have achieved such a fantastic result in a relatively ‘young’ organisation is a tribute to the great work being done. In addition, to receive such acknowledgement in the middle of a global pandemic reflects the quality of submission and collaboration of colleagues across Choice.
The process has also generated a number of improvement actions which Choice are already working on.
Speaking of the award, Michael McDonnell, Group Chief Executive said: “We are delighted to be recognised at this level. It is our intention to resubmit an application in 2023 – that is towards the end of the current strategy – to provide a measure of our progress as a body that strives for excellence in everything that we do. In the meantime though, let’s celebrate our accreditation and strive to do more!”
