The rising cost of living is having a detrimental impact on people’s daily lives, with the cost of food and energy prices a real concern as we approach the winter months. It is vital that those who need help and support know where to access it.

Alongside a range of service providers and key partners, Choice Housing and Ark Housing encourage local people in the Lisburn area to attend the ‘Help for All’ information event on Thursday, 17th November – which will be an opportunity to avail of support and advice on cost of living related issues from across a wide range of organisations.

Through the Lisburn shared housing advisory group (Housing for All) significant engagement took place within the local Lisburn area and specifically with the Lisburn Area Learning Community which highlighted a lack of awareness of the range of support available to people and how to access it.

Whether it is help relating to housing matters, financial, energy costs or other issues – key service providers are coming together in one place to help.

Shared Housing is an important part of The Executive Office, Together Building United Communities programme aiming to improve good relations and build inclusive communities. Both Choice and Ark Housing have shared housing schemes in Lisburn.

Some of the organisations who will be offering support and advice on the day include:

  • Choice Housing
  • Ark Housing
  • NIHE
  • Lisburn & C Council
  • Advice NI
  • Lisburn City Civic Trust- food bank and social supermarket
  • Ballymacash regeneration network
  • Resurgam Trust- community fridge
  • Atlas Women’s Centre
  • St Vincent De Paul
